Islamia College Srinagar organizes snow trekking event

Srinagar, March 23: Department of Physical Education Islamia College Srinagar on Saturday organised a one-day snow trekking event for its newly inducted adventure club student members to Naranag Domail.

The trekkers were flagged off by Prof. Yaseen Ahmed Shah the Principal of the college at 8: 00 am in the morning from the College Gate.

29 students and 4 staff members under the supervision of Dr. Altaf ur Rehman, Director Physical Education of the college started trekking at 10: 40 a m from Naranag near ancient temple ruins area through snow clad trek up to Domail.

Traversing through moderate to heavy snow-clad trail, the party reached Domail Bridge at 12: 00 pm, where the accumulated snow was 4 to 7 ft. spending about 2 hours at this beautiful place the college trekkers enjoyed the natural beauty of the area which is the Sangam of two streams from famous Alpine lakes up hill, to the maximum.

The trekkers started return journey at 2.00 pm and reached Naranag at 3:15 pm and reached the college safe and sound at 5: 30 pm.
