Srinagar: A cop guarding Congress leader and Municipal Committee President Anantnag, Hilal Ahmad Shah was on Friday injured after suspected militants fired upon the police party in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Shah while confirmed the incident to KNS said that the policeman guarding him was injured after he was fired by some unidentified gunmen there.
He said “we rushed him to the hospital wherefrom he was shifted to Srinagar’s hospital for specialized treatment.”
The injured cop as per the reports has been identified as Irshad Ahmad.
Meanwhile, soon after the incident, the area has been cordoned off while as search operation has been launched to nab the attackers. (KNS)
