Srinagar: Gunfight rages in Mir Mohalla of Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.
Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 13RR, CRPF and SOG launched cordon around Mir Mohalla of Hajin after having credible input about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected house the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
SSP Bandipora Rahu Malik told GNS that we had cordoned the suspected house earlier but operation was delayed due to evacuation of civilians near the encounter site.
The officer further said that still two more civilians are inside encounter zone and we are trying our best to rescue them from the encounter site. As per the sources two militants are believed to be trapped.(GNS)
