Baramulla, Mar 18: The ‘Karvan-e-Aman’ cross-LoC bus service and cross-LoC trade between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad remained suspended for third consecutive week on Monday due to repairs on Kaman bridge connecting the two sides of divided Kashmir.

Officials said that both cross-Loc bus service and trade remained suspended for the third week due to “ongoing repair work” on the damaged Kaman bridge in Uri.

Those associated with cross-LoC trade are dismayed saying they are suffering losses due to the blockade of the bridge.

“Around three hundred traders and thousands of people associated with trade are suffering and the fresh stocks have also got damaged,” a trader said.

The traders said that Army had assured the concerned authorities that Kaman bridge would be repaired and restored within 15 days but as of now no repairing has been undertaken.

Earlier, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry also expressed concern over the disruption of LoC trade due to a damaged Kaman bridge.

The traders associated with it have requested the state administration to facilitate repairs of the said bridge for the restoration of the trade.
