The JRL also termed the summoning of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani’s son Syed Naseem Geelani by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as “sheer political vendetta”.

Meanwhile, the authorities on Sunday imposed restrictions in parts of the city here as a “precautionary measure to maintain law and order” in view of a strike called by various trade bodies against the NIA summon to Hurriyat-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Shops and other business establishments in the restricted areas remained shut while elsewhere in the Valley it was business as usual.
