Srinagar, March 11: Police has said that they will identify with the help of DNA test two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants who were killed in a gunfight at Pinglish Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday as their bodies are beyond recognition.

To identify the duo, two families have been summoned today so that DNA samples will be taken, a police official told GNS.

Sources said charred body parts were recovered from the encounter site as the house where the encounter broke out was gutted due to fire.

Meanwhile, army spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia in a statement said that three militants have been killed in the encounter. He said that the operation is in progress.

A police spokesman said that so far only two bodies have been recovered from the gunfight site and their identities are being ascertained.

‘The bodies were taken to concerned police station Tral for further medicos legal formalities, sources said.

The officer said that the DNA examination will be conducted today to identify the slain. (GNS)
