Nadeem Mushtaq, a promising artist who completed his Masters Degree in Painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan in 2013.  Nadeem mostly works with painting and has a rich collection of work that has won him appreciation from several art veterans across the country and abroad.  Apart from canvas, Nadeem also ventured into Murals and, alongwith a team of artists, did some wonderful wall paintings from last couple of years.

Currently associated with Arts in Life Initiative Foundation ((ALIF)) as an Artist, Nadeem has also worked with Indian Nation Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) and  Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, as an internee in some programmes aimed at Art conservation.

Apart from mural paintings, Nadeem’s art works are generally visual depictions of socio- political confusion with themes mostly taken from Kashmir conflict and the impacts of it on human psyche. In semi-abstract style, Nadeem has been able to visually illustrate and convey his understanding of trauma and confusion besides the beauty of life and also the resilience with which people defy the ever imposing narratives of pain and anguish. He terms his depictions as ‘The happenings’ from an Artists point of view.

A thorough professional, Nadeem has exhibited his works in various solo and group shows across India and received great appreciation from Artists and Art lovers.

Nadeem hails from Mohyan, Tangmarg- a quint village in District Baramulla.
