Srinagar, March 1, 2019: Peoples Conference senior leader and Parliamentary candidate from Baramulla Raja Aijaz Ali expressed serious concern over escalating tensions between India & Pakistan across LoC in Uri and urged Governor and district administration to do everything to prevent loss of lives or property.

Expressing concern over safety of people and property amid intermittent firing along the LoC in Uri, Raja Aijaz Ali said people living near the LoC are scared, leaving their houses for safer places and shelter homes following heavy exchange of fire between India and Pakistan armies.

Urging the Governor and district administration to make necessary arrangements to ensure safety of people and property, Raja Aijaz said, “Government vehicles should be made available to ferry residents from some border villages. Moreover, bullet proof ambulances should be kept available to carry those who are injured.”

Requesting the administration to expedite construction of bunkers for safety of people living along the LoC, Raja Aijaz said that the government should utilize funds from NAREGA and BADP in case they are facing shortage of funds to carry out the work.
