Dr Samoon reviews functioning of Agriculture, Horticulture Departments

JAMMU, MARCH 01: Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Transport Departments, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a meeting of senior officers of Agriculture and Horticulture Departments to review the overall functioning of the departments.

Concerned authorities of the departments apprised the Principal Secretary regarding various issues under centrally sponsored schemes besides physical and financial achievements in different sectors.

Dr Samoon asked the Horticulture department to take necessary steps to increase horticulture sector in Jammu Division so that the production in the sector could be increased. He also directed the concerned authorities to release all the funds under various centrally sponsored schemes as early as possible so that the target could be achieved.

Principal Secretary also directed the senior officers of Agriculture department to take necessary steps to sort out all pending issues of the department so that the benefits of existing schemes could be given to the farmers as well. He directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to utilize the funds of various schemes being executed by the state and central governments for the welfare of the farmers and for other infrastructure and development purposes of these departments in the state.

Among others, Director Agriculture Department, senior officers of Agriculture, Horticulture and other concerned department were present in the meeting.
