Srinagar, Feb 27: Crime Branch of police in Jammu on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a fraudster who had cheated people of their hard-earned money.
A Crime Branch spokesman said Surjeet Singh, son of Raghubir Singh, of Gajansoo, Marh, had duped the innocent and gullible people of various districts of their hard-earned money by way of taking cash in the form of fixed deposits, recurring deposits, saving accounts etc after floating a cooperative in the name and style of Rural Development Multipurpose Cooperative Ltd.
Inquiry revealed that Singh had grabbed an amount of Rs 3,35,29,310 from people by way of cheating.
