Complete verification process of PMKSN scheme beneficiaries immediately: Div Com to DDCs

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 16: With a view to provide income support to all small and marginal farmers under ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’ (PMKSN) scheme, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed all District Development Commissioners (DDCs) of the valley to complete the verification process, uploading of beneficiaries data on national portal, activation of beneficiaries accounts, preparation of list of exclusive categories and collection of data process immediately so that the beneficiaries receive PMKSN scheme benefits at an earliest.

The Divisional Commissioner made these directions while chairing a meeting with all DDCs and other concerned officers of different departments to review effective implementation of the scheme in the Kashmir.

While addressing the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner said that the main objective of launching this scheme is to supplement the financial needs of the farmers in procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields. He said that the farmers who fall under this category up to 2 hectares shall be provided benefits of Rs 6000 per annum per family.

He directed all DDCs and concerned departments to activate men and machinery and to expedite the process for effective implementation of this schemes at grass root level in all districts so that the farmers can avail benefits of these scheme.

In this regard, Khan asked the officers to constitute an additional district as well as sub-division level monitoring committees to monitor the activities daily. He also instructed the officers to activate zone level teams also.

Joint Director Horticulture, Deputy Director Agriculture, Assistant Commissioner and other concerned officers were present in the meeting whereas all DDCs participated the meeting through video conferencing.
