Saurabh Bhagat reviews PM-SYM Scheme in JK

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14: Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment Department Saurabh Bhagat today chaired a high level meeting about the implementation of the “Pradhan Mantri Shram-Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) Pension Scheme” in the State which is being launched tomorrow by the Prime Minister throughout the country.

During the meeting, it was given out that Customer Service Centres of the Information Technology Department shall be the Nodal Points where the eligible unorganized workers shall register themselves and apply online for this Scheme. This Scheme shall be completely online and paper less and the worker is supposed to have Aadhar Number and Bank Account Number with IFSC code and a mobile number with him.

The District Officers of Employment Department, Labour Department, EPFO’s, ESIC and the bank branches of various branches particularly Jammu & Kashmir Bank shall be the touch points where the details of the Scheme shall be available for information of the workers.

The Information Technology Department conveyed that about 3000 customer care centres are functional in the State and shall be ready for launch of the Scheme. The officers of the Information Technology were conveyed to share the information with each centre for the awareness for the launch of the Scheme.

Commissioner Secretary directed all the Heads of Labour & Employment Department, ESIC and EPFO’s to play their role in the awareness of the scheme among common masses particularly un-organized workers so that the benefits percolate down.

The meeting was attended by Y.P. Suman Director Employment, Bashir Ahmad Khan Labour Commissioner, Anu Behel Joint Director Employment Jammu, Shahid Mahmood Deputy Director Employment Central and officers of Banks and Life Insurance Corporation Limited.
