Jammu, February 15: Massive clashes erupted in Gujjar Nagar area of Jammu amid protesters torching vehicles on the roads after which authorities imposed curfew in certain areas, a local news agency KNO reported.

According to KNO, protesters marched towards Gujjar Nagar and torched vehicles on the road. More than 80 vehicles have been vandalized and 8 vehicles have been set ablaze, KNO quoted some eyewitnesses as stating.  JCCI had called for a shutdown in Jammu against the deadly attack on CRPF in Pulwama district.

The shutdown was supported by Jammu Bar Association as well.

A large contingent of forces have laid cordon over Gujjar Nagar and are working to control the situation.

“The situation is almost out of control,” reports said.  Quoting officials, KNO said that a curfew was imposition in Gujjar Nagar to control the situation.
