SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 06: In the wake of heavy precipitation in the form of rains and snowfall in the district, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Wednesday instructed the concerned departments to undertake immediate dewatering wherever water-logging has occurred in the city.

The DC said the water-logging situation in the city has resulted from heavy precipitation throughout the day in the district and that efforts are being made to undertake dewatering of all affected roads and lanes at the soonest.

He said the Fire & Emergency Services has also been instructed to press into service fire tenders and portable pumps from its pool at identified locations wherever needed for dewatering efforts.

Dr Shah said all the concerned departments have been instructed to be responsive and strictly follow the standard operating procedure. He said the concerned have been asked to work in close coordination as long as the weather situation lasts.

He also said that the MED has also been instructed to ensure prompt snow-clearance in case of accumulation.
