Secretary Tourism finalizes arrangements for Jammu Mahotsav-2019

JAMMU, FEBUARY 5: Secretary Tourism, Rigzin Samphel today chaired a review meeting to finalize the arrangements for Jammu Mahotsav 2019 being organized by Tourism department from 8th to 10th February, 2019

The Secretary directed Tourism Department to work in coordination with other departments to mobilize maximum participation of people for making the festival a grand success.

Rigzin asked the concerned to showcase natural beauty and landscape, diverse culture, amazing art and craft, sumptuous cuisine, unique music to attract the tourists during the festival.

He asked the Tourism Department to encourage the local tour operators, hoteliers, guest house owners to develop network with best tour operators of the country to invite tourists for the festival and upcoming tourist season.

Sightseeing at premier tourist attractions and resorts, musical evenings, water sports activities, exhibition of handicrafts, horticulture and other allied products, networking with the local tour operators, hoteliers and houseboats owners will be the key features of the festival.

Director Tourism Jammu O.P. Bhagat, Joint Director Information, Naresh Kumar, officers from police, Traffic, Floriculture, Rural Development Department, Social Welfare Department, Handicraft Department, Handloom Department, Horticulture Department, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Fire and emergency service, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality and Protocol Jammu, Industries and Commerce, State Agro Industries, PHE, PDD and officers of other departments were present in the meeting.

Associations of tour and travel operators also participated in the meeting.
