Srinagar, Feb 02: Maternal uncle of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti breathed his last on Saturday in Srinagar after brief illness.
According to party spokesman, Muhammad Shafi Farooqi, elder brother of PDP senior leader Mohammad Sartaj Madni breathed his last on Saturday at SKIMS where he was undergoing treatment for the past few days.
In a press statement here, on behalf of the party leadership, PDP patron Muzaffar Hussain Beigh condoled Farooqi’s demise and expressed solidarity with Begum Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Mehbooba Mufti, Sartaj Madni and other members of the bereaved family.
The PDP patron also prayed for departed soul and patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss, the press statement said.
