Baramulla: Meet Farjumand Sadiqi from Kanispora Baramulla who has carved niche at her young age as a budding artist with her distinctive style of paintings. A student of 11th standard Sadiqi had a taste of painting and drawing from her childhood. It’s her love for this art form that despite having minimal resources and negative academic appreciation Sadiqi kept hold of her art practice.  Along with art of painting and drawing Farjumand sadiqi  is also an emerging writer, who has complied a yet to be published novel and  a series of poems.

From multifaceted paintings to Kashmiri folk tales and folklores which are now forgotten, Sadiqi as an amateur writer in this conflict ridden place also wants to write about the worsening situation of Kashmir valley. She said that her elder sister has been very supportive and contributed a lot in her journey of art so far, besides her parents who also played their key role in encouraging her.
