MD Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation calls on Ganai

JAMMU, JANUARY 31: Managing Director, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited, R S Sodhi along with members of Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producers’ Cooperative Limited (JKMPCL) today called on Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmed Ganai and apprised him about the progress on various dairy development activities undergoing in the State.

The Advisor was informed that Milk procurement of JKMPCL has increased from 11.8 lakh Kgs per year in 2004-05 to 121.8 lakh Kgs per year, which shows growth of 930 percent in last 14 years.

During the year 2017-18, JKMPCL had procured 121.8 lakh Kgs milk per year from more than 17000 milk producer members through 450 Village Dairy Cooperative Societies and there are  230 VDCS operational in Jammu and 220 VDCS in Srinagar, the Advisor was further informed.

For Social upliftment and economic empowerment of milk producer members, the MD said that JKMPCL has focused on hand folding the marginalized and under privileged communities by providing them a remunerative market for their produce throughout the year.

JKMPCL has established State of the art plants each at Jammu and Kashmir with 50,000 litres per day capacity of manufacturing milk, butter milk, curd, ghee for consumers with financial support from state and central governments.
