Special outreach programme on Swachh Bharat organised by FOB

Srinagar: A special outreach programme on Swachh Bharat was organised by Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Government Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh Srinagar.

Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor Junaid Mattu who was the chief guest on the occasion highlighted the objectives and targets of the mission.

Speaking about social responsibilities as well as personal hygiene, he said that cleanliness should be the primary focus of every citizen and we should join hands in maintaining the standard of cleanliness in and outside our homes.

Lauding the efforts of Field Outreach Bureau in organising the event, he ensured full support of Srinagar Municipal Corporation for initiatives related to cleanliness in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau, Srinagar Ghulam Abbas highlighted the challenges and need to focus on behavioural change.  He lauded the efforts of the organisers for organising such programs.

In-charge FOB Unit Srinagar, Sikander Qureshi while enumerating the disastrous effects of polythene said that we should adopt its alternatives in our life to save surrounding from its never ending ill effects.

Artists from ROB performed at the event giving out positive messages for undertaking the mission of cleanliness further at individual level. An on the spot quiz competition about Swachh Bharat Mission was also organised and the winners were felicitated with prizes.
