Director Agriculture chairs meeting of Law Enforcement Officers

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 24: To devise effective strategy for reinforcin regulation of the prices and take stock of the availability of Tree Spray Oil (TSO) in Kashmir Division, Director Agriculture Syed Altaf Aejaz Andrabi today chaired a high-level meeting of Law Enforcement Officers.

The Director said that the Tree Spray Oil (TSO) product companies having registered suppliers be asked to supply quality products and take steps for the reasonability of the prices. He instructed the Enforcement Officers to keep close vigil on the suppliers and directed the companies to notify the rates of the TSO products.

He instructed for intensifying the market checking and stressed upon regulating the prices of TSO. He added that there should be no exploitation of the growers regarding prices and quality of the products. Director emphasized upon the officers and dealers for safeguarding the interests of the farmers. He instructed the officers to ensure the uniformity of rates. Director was tough on the companies and dealers who are charging high rates and dealing with spurious products and warned them of stern action.

The meeting was informed that 10700 KL Tree Spray Oil (TSO) is the total requirement for fruit orchards of the valley and shall be readily available in the month of February 2019 in every nook and corner of the valley.

The orchardists, who were also present in the meeting, while sharing their views said that in the neighbouring states like Punjab and Himachal, the Tree Spray Oil products are sold on lower rates as compared to rates in Jammu and Kashmir and requested the authorities for regulating the prices.

Director ensured the meeting that matter of regulating the prices will be taken up with the higher authorities for safeguarding the interests of the farming community.

Among the others, the meeting was attended by Plant Protection Officer, Assistant Director Law Enforcement Kashmir, District Law Enforcement Officers, Enforcement Inspectors, Fertilizer Inspectors, representatives of Growers and dealers.
