Srinagar, Jan 24: Two persons died and over fifty others were injured after a passenger bus they were travelling on fell into a rivulet in Udhampur district, Thursday.
“A passenger bus on way from Udhampur to Ramnagar, skidded off the road and fell into a rivulet near Kooh Nullah in Ramnagar area,” said a police official.
He said two passengers died on the spot while 53 suffered injuries. Police and locals immediately rushed to the spot and shifted injured to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Krishan Lal, son of Sandokhu Ram, resident of Marta, and Mohammad Haroon, son of Naseer Mohammad, resident of Koonallah.
According to reports, three survivors sustained serious injuries and were referred to Command Hospital, Udhampur while other injured are being treated at different hospitals of the district.
