SMC Corporators’ delegation meets Governor, advisor Sharma

JAMMU, JANUARY 19: A delegation of Corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) led by Sheikh Mohammad Imran, Deputy Mayor, SMC, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.

The delegation apprised Governor about various developmental issues relating to Srinagar Municipal Corporation and brought into his notice some issues of public importance for redressal . The delegation also demanded accommodation and security to Corporators, enhancement of monthly honourarium of Corporators, development of Dal Lake river front, and ban on ‘PUBG’ game in cyber cafe in Srinagar city.

Governor assured the delegation that their demands would be looked into and due consideration would be given for their early redressal.

Meanwhile, the delegation called on the Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma and brought several issues of the corporation to his notice for their redressal.

The Deputy Mayor and the Corporators of SMC discussed several matters with the Advisor pertaining to empowerment of Corporators, besides issues of SMC employees, development works, sanitation and smooth conduct of SMC, beautification of Srinagar city and many alike.

While interacting with the delegation of Corporators, the Advisor said that the elected Corporators have a great role to play in the development of their respective areas and the Governor’s Administration will provide every possible support to them to achieve the desired results.

Availability of funds and the efficiency of the functionaries are vital for the development that will ultimately lead to the welfare of the people, the Advisor added.

Corporators, Haji Mohammad Ashraf, Ghulm Nabi, Ejaz Rasool, Wajahat Hussain , Muzafar Guroo and Mohammad Lateef Mir were the part of the delegation.
