SRINAGAR, JANUARY 19: Refuting a news item appearing in a section of press, Director School Education, Kashmir today clarified that the decision to engage permanent teaching faculty in winter tutorials to replace the academic arrangements was taken two months back.

Director Education, Dr. G. N Itoo, in a statement said, “The School Education Department, Govt of J&K, vide order No. 916 Edu of 2018 dated: 16/11/2018 had accorded sanction to the re-hiring of willing teachers and lecturers of winter zone already engaged/hired on academic arrangement for utilisation of their services temporarily from 16 Nov 2018 to 15th January 2019 for the purpose of winter schooling”.

Quoting the field officers, Director revealed that the transition through replacement was smooth and there was no inconvenience to the students enrolled in winter tutorials. It further stated that the field officers were sensitised well in advance to ensure the hassle free continuity of free coaching in winter tutorial centres and a circular with regard to the monitoring of these centres was also issued much before the news reports published in some news papers.

The statement also stated that the step taken by the Directorate in view of the termination of hiring period of academic arrangement was a scheduled official exercise.
