CASO launched in Lal Chowk, Police says it is routine exercise ahead of Republic Day

Srinagar, January 19: A joint Cordon and Search Operation  (CASO) has been launched by the government forces  in the commercial Hub Lal Chowk area of Srinagar.

The search comes a day after the grenade attack took place in the locality, which left a vehicle and windowpanes of some shops damaged.

Witnesses told  local news agency (KNO) that a large contingent of police and paramilitary troopers has been deployed near Clock Tower here while as the frisking has also been intensified.

They said that the drone has also been used during the operation.

However, a top police official told KNO that it is a routine exercise ahead of upcoming Republic Day.
