4 day training prog for Sarpanchs of Gbl, Sgr concludes

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 18: The four-day training for the newly elected Sarpanchs of district Ganderbal and Srinagar organized by Rural Development Department concluded here today.

The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Piyush Singla was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function.

Addressing the Sarpanchs, he said that they will have to work on the grass root level and play their role in solving the issues faced by people.

Singla said that the Sarpanchs will have to devise developmental plans in consultation with locals for need based development.

He added that during the framing of Gram Panchayat Development Plans last year, it was decided that the frontline workers, will act as representatives in each department to ensure the developmental works are conducted smoothly.

The DC Ganderbal assured the Sarpanchs of full cooperation from district administration adding that the contribution of line departments is necessary to make panchayats successful.

Director Rural Development department Qazi Sarwar and other RDD officials were also present on the occasion.

During the four-day training programme Director RDD, officials from various government departments, besides special Trainer from Gorakhpur Dr Tiwari trained the Sarpanchs so that they are ready to deliver on the ground.

The Sarpanchs expressed their satisfaction and said that they are highly motivated to deliver on grass roots level.
