GANDERBAL, JANUARY 15: Additional District Development Commissioner, Shafqat Iqbal today flagged off a group of 39 newly elected Sarpanchs of block Safapora, Lar, Wakura and Sharpathri for 4-day training to be held at Srinagar.
The programme is organised by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj along with District Administration Ganderbal.
The ADDC, while interacting with the Sarpanchs, said that the training would be beneficial for the newly elected representative as it would apprise them about their rights and duties, powers vested in the Panchayat institutions, functioning of e-Panchayats, Online management of accounts, proper utilization of men and machinery and usage of developmental funds.
BDO Ganderbal, Zahoor Salfi and DIO Ganderbal, Riyaz Fazli were also present on the occasion.
