Sports week, organized by Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Group of Institutions, concludes in Poonch

POONCH, JANUARY 04: The sports week which was organized by Jamia Zia -Ul- Uloom Department of School Education concluded here at Sports Stadium Poonch on a high note.

The event witnessed the participation of 913 athletes in 13 different indoor and outdoor games.

In a statement issued to the press, the spokesman of Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Group of Institutions said: “On the last day of the sports week, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch, Ramesh Kumar Angral, was the Chief Guest where as ACR Poonch was the Guest of honour.”

Students participated in different games including Kabaddi, Karate, Cricket, football, Kho-Kho and skipping rope.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Poonch lauded the efforts of Chairman, Maulana Sayeed A Habib, Zia Ul Uloom Group of Institutions and Principal, Waheed A Banday, Zia Ul Uloom High School for providing students with much needed platform where they can exhibit their sports talent.

During the concluding ceremony, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Rahul Yadav, was the Chief Guest whereas Addl. SP Aadil Hameed was the Guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Addl. SP, Aadil Hameed, congratulated the entire management, student fraternity for keeping pace with the requirements of the present time, he said that only a fit body can have a sound mind and for sound mind, we certainly require physical exercise and for which sports is the best alternative.

Congratulating entire management and particularly Maulana Sayeed A Habib for providing requisite platforms to students, DDC Poonch Rahul Yadav said that, Jamia has proven its mettle in different fields and students of Jamia are extremely talented as he personally visited Zia Ul Uloom and experienced the same.

While addressing the student community, DDC Poonch said that if you are focused and determined, anything can be achieved and conquered.

On this occasion, DDC Poonch, Addl SP Poonch and Chairman Zia Ul Uloom Group of Institutions Maulana Sayeed A Habib also presented various awards to the winners and to the media persons.

While extending vote of thanks, Maulana Sayeed A Habib congratulated students, staff and entire faculty of the school for this successful sporting event, he also thanked district administration for providing logistic support, he also thanked media persons for covering this event; he also said that he will provide everything to the students for their overall development.

SHO Anzir Mir, Senior Journalist and Noted anchor Pradeep Khanna, acclaimed poet Mohtashim Ahtesham Bhat, Social Activist Sabar Hussain Sabar Bitta, MS Qazi, Ground Incharge Nirdosh Kumar and many other personalities were also present on the occasion.
