Secy Agriculture reviews preparedness for “Silk Samagra” workshop

JAMMU, JANUARY 04: Secretary Agriculture Manzoor Ahmad Lone today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness for the workshop on “Silk Samagra”.

Director Agriculture Dr HK Razdan, Director Sericulture Gulzar Ahmad, Joint Director Central Silk Board (CSB) Sardar Singh, Joint Director Information Naresh Kumar, Deputy Director Handloom Kanta Rakwal along with other senior officers of the Jammu Kashmir Industries, KVIB, SKUAST-J, JKTDC and concerned department were present in the meeting.

The Secretary asked the concerned heads to work in close synergy so that the people, especially farmers, who are coming to attend the workshop, get the maximum benefits from it.   He advised the officers to invite farmers and weavers associated sericulture and silk products manufacturing and have benefitted from the state and centrally sponsored schemes along with other farmers/weavers who are interested in opting silk related activities as their profession.

He asked them to ensure exhibition, display and demonstration of all kinds of products, tool and equipments related to sericulture.

It was informed that different department will put installs to display and demonstrate their activities related to silk.
