REASI, DECEMBER 29: J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Reasiorganised a district level banker review awareness programme under Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (J&KREGP) at the district headquarters here today.

The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Reasi, Dr Sagar Dattatray Doifode. The meeting was conducted to provide awareness to bankers about J&KREGP.

A district-level task force meeting regarding the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme, J&KREGP was also held at the occasion.

The meeting was as part of a regular exercise in which representatives from banks and other stakeholders meet to discuss various aspects of the programme.

DDC also discussed various initiatives to be taken by KVIB as well as by the banks to generate awareness about the programme in the district.

District Officer KVIB, Sadiq Hussain briefed the meeting that applicant from rural areas, within 18 and 40 years of age, can avail loans under the programme for setting up their business. A maximum of Rs 25 lakh can be availed under the scheme by any individual. He also expressed the need to conduct promotional activities at ITIs so that more educated youth avails the benefits of the programme.

The meeting was also attended by General Manager DIC Reasi, Anil Kumar, Cluster Head J&K Bank and various bank managers of the district.
