Andrabi instructed enforcement agency of the department to increase vigil and monitoring for eradication of spurious pesticides from the market which affect the agriculture and allied sectors in the valley.

He asserted that the pesticide companies having business interest should regulate their business activity strictly in accordance to the provisions of Insecticide Act 1968 and Rules made under.

“All pesticide manufacturing companies operating in Kashmir Division should maintain their warehouses strictly as per the norms and   display the detailed list mentioning name, address, contact details of the employees outside their warehouse which is lacking in most of the companies. Wholesale/retail pesticide dealers should separate the expired pesticides with a bold label mentioned it outside the packet,” Andrabi stated.

In addition to the manufacturing companies, meeting was also attended by Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir, Plant Protection Officer Lalmandi, Assistant Director Law Enforcement Lalmandi, and representatives of different Insecticides manufacturing companies operating in Kashmir region.
