DGP visits Kathua; addresses trainees, interacts with police personnel

Jammu December 28 : Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh today visited Sardar Prithinandan Singh Police Training School interacted with police personnel of Executive and Armed wings at DPL Kathua and also inspected IRP 19th battalion headquarter at Changran.

In a statement issued here, a police spokesman said: “After inspecting the guard of honour the DGP addressed the trainees at PTS Kathua. In his address the DGP at the very outset expressed his happiness for being with the trainees whose number as well as qualification profile was appreciable. DGP said that the training days are little difficult but most memorable of one’s career.”

He advised the trainees to make best use of the available facilities and get trained in handling the law and order, militancy incidents as well as cyber crimes involving technology. He said that a policeman has to train himself in keeping emotions aside and stand above the divisions of religion and region to serve the people.

He also impressed upon the trainees to learn languages, culture, customs, traditions of other regions which will help in developing a fellow feeling and will help in filling the gaps in our society. The DGP emphasized upon them to inculcate a spirit of courage to face the challenges with smile.

On this occasion Principal PTS Kathua Arun Gupta JKPS gave a brief resume of the outdoor and indoor trainings being imparted to the trainees. He also said that the trainings in computer and Urdu language will be started shortly.

Later on the DGP interacted with the Executive and Armed police personnel at DPL Kathua. After inspecting the guard of honour I/c SP Kathua Nasir Ahmed welcomed the DGP and gave a brief resume of the working of his district.

In his address the DGP complimented police personnel for peaceful Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies election and impressed upon them to be ready for the future challenges.

While paying homage to the martyrs the DGP informed that the Hon’ble Prime Minister was all praise for the Jammu and Kashmir Police during the recent DGPs conference in Gujarat. He said that such recognition from the Prime Minister of the country is a great honour for all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

He impressed upon the officers and the jawans to strictly deal with the bad elements in the society but give respect and protection to the law abiding people. He said that we have come a long way in giving facilities of mobility and other infrastructure to the police personnel though a lot needs to be done.
