CEC, LAHDC-Leh meets Sharma

JAMMU, DECEMBER 27: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, (LAHDC) Leh, Jamyang Tsering Namgial on Thursday met Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma here at Civil Secretariat and expressed his gratitude for sanctioning Cluster University for Ladakh; Govt. Degree College for Khaltsi and up gradation of District Hospital Leh to 300 beds.

Executive Councillors, LAHDC, Phuntsog Stanzin and Tsering Sangdup were also present at the meeting.

LAHDC Councillors appreciated the Governor’s administration for specific mention of Ladakh region in some sectors during the recent State Budget announcements.

Interacting with the Councillors, the Advisor stated that the government is committed towards the public welfare and development in the state and several decisions on these lines were taken by it recently.

He said that with better health, education, power, infrastructural and other allied facilities, the areas like Ladakh will witness a positive change in development. With the commissioning of vital Alusteng grid station, Power Transmission system to Leh-Ladakh region will be strengthened, he added.

Meanwhile, the CEC, Leh submitted a memorandum listing various demands including regularization of contractual employees of PDC, wage issues of daily wagers of PHE, I&FC, taking up of Nubra Transmission line with the Central Government, credit of funds under Central Sponsored Schemes and revenue realized by respective department vested to LAHDC.
