CEC Kargil discusses important issues with CEC Leh, Kansal

KARGIL, DECEMBER 27: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today held separate meetings with CEC Leh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Principal Secretary Planning and Civil Aviation Rohit Kansal and Secretary Ladakh Affairs Rigzin Samphel and discussed with them various important issues pertaining to Kargil District.

During the meeting with CEC Leh, several key issues related to the twin districts came up for discussion. The CEC Kargil and CEC Leh agreed to take up the issues confronting both districts jointly with the Government in future.

It was further decided in the meeting that from now onwards the Hill Councils shall hold regular quarterly interactions to have a thorough understanding of the issues of the people besides to strengthen relations between the twin districts.

The CEC also called on the Principal Secretary Planning and Civil Aviation Rohit Kansal and took up the issues regarding the sanction of funds for completion of work on the 200 bedded hospital at Kurbathang, immediate resumption of Pawan Hans Helicopter Services to Drass, Kargil and Zanskar and various other issues.

Feroz Khan also stressed for the arrangement of sorties of IL 76 aircraft between Udhampur and Leh in view of the heavy rush of passengers intending to travel between Kargil and Jammu.

Meanwhile, during his meeting with Secretary Ladakh Affairs Rigzian Sampheal, the CEC took up the issue for the provision of funds for the languishing projects, regularization of casual, consolidated and part-time workers besides other related issues.

The Principal Secretary Planning and Civil Aviation and Secretary Ladakh Affairs assured to take requisite steps in this regard.
