Srinagar, December 25: Public Health Engineering (PHE) Joint Employees Association (PHEJEA) Tuesday threatened to launch state wide agitation incase casual laborers demands including release of pending salaries and amendment in SRO 520 are not fulfilled forthwith.

Addressing a press conference at PHE head office here, Association President Sajjad Ahmad Parray asked the government to release pending salaries of PHE casual laborers without forcing them to come on the roads.

Parray said the salaries of PHE causal laborers should be released every month and regularization of those adjusted since 1994 be ensured.

“How long will they suffer. On one hand they strive for their salary which is pending for months while on the other hand government consumes time to regularize their service,” said Parray.

He warned state wide agitation incase the government failed to fulfill legitimate demands of casual laborers. He also asked the concerned authorities to forward their files to the secretariat so that issues they face are resolved at earliest.

He appealed the Governor Satyapal Malik to consider genuine demands of PHE casual laborers who he said have been hitting streets to get their rights.
