Srinagar, Dec 26: Government forces on Wednesday morning launched a cordon-and-search operation at Bhaderwan area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of army’s 55 RR, 44 RR, CRPF and SOG laid a siege at Bhaderwan, Awantipora today morning .
Sources said that the cordon was laid following inputs about the presence of some militants inside a hideout in the area and some militants including a top Hizbul Mujahideen Commander is beleived to be trapped.
A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the cordon was launched following inputs about the presence of some militants.
Meanwhile, Internet has been snapped in Awantipora police district in wake of the the operation(GNS)
