Protestors blocked traffic

Sopore: Dozens of people including patients staged a strong protest demonstration against the shortage of doctors in “Mother and Child Care Hospital” in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla .

Witness said that protestors staged protest demonstration against health authorities and blocked road outside MCH hospital Sopore.

They added that traffic  movement on Sopore –Srinagar Road was halted for hours

Protestors raised the slogans in favour of their demands and demanded proper staff and doctors in Mother and Child Hospital Sopore.

A police party later reached the spot and assured the protestors that matter will be taken to higher authorities of health department.

Meanwhile when contacted Block Medical officer Sopore Dr Sam, “We have a proper staff at hospital but three doctors can’t do justice with the huge rush of patients but they are trying hard to tackle with the rush like big hospitals.”

Dr Sami however added that still there will be weaknesses but to hit the streets is not the solution. BMO Sopore further said that if patiants are demanding to change the staff here we will work on it.
