Srinagar, Dec 21: Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and ex-MLA Zadibal, Abid Ansari formally joined Sajad Gani Lone-led Peoples Conference at latter’s official residence here along with his scores of supporters Friday.

“It is like reuniting with my family. Although I was not physically affiliated with PC, but I was very much within the party whose foundation was laid by my late brother Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Abdul Gani Lone and Shamim Ahmad Shamim,” said Ansari when asked why did he joined PC and not any other political party.

About the reasons for his leaving PDP, the former MLA said “family rule, dictatorship and non-fulfillment of promises” forced him to quit PDP.

“I had predicted the collapse of PDP beforehand, and I am on record to say it within and outside assembly that whatever happens in PDP is wrong. I didn’t leave it for power or for not having been made a minister, but I quit following non-fulfillment of promises made by late Mufti Sahab,” Ansari added.

He said the promises made with him regarding his constituency too were not translated into reality.

“I was ignored as Late Mufti Sahab had promised me that the middle-pass youth of my constituency would be adjusted through direct recruitment by DGP. Separate authorities for Khushaal Sar and Gil Sar too were not formed, nor was artisan lone as promised waived off,” Ansari said.
