JAMMU, DECEMBER 20: The Social Welfare Department today said that the salary and honorarium issue of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers will be addressed soon.

Secretary Social Welfare, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone said the Government of India has released Rs 49 crore on account of Honorarium for Anganwadi Workers and Helpers which will be released immediately for disbursement after getting credit confirmation from the Finance Department.

He said to address the issue of pending salary in ICDS,the Finance Department has approved an additional allocation of Rs 55 crore in the Revised Estimates for fiscal 2018-19 and the funds are expected to be released soon.

Dr Lone said a team of officers led by Mission Director ICDS has been rushed to Delhi to ensure reconciliation of funds with the Union Ministry of Women and Child Department to ensure expeditious release of arrears and third instalment of current financial year due to the State.
