Srinagar, Dec 19: There seems to be no end to blunders committed by the University of Kashmir; from admission to examination mechanism, the institution has stirred disorder in everything!

The students of Government College for Women, M.A. Road Srinagar, allege that their future is caught between the proverbial devil and the deep sea with their College on one side and Kashmir University authorities on the other.

Talking to ‘Kashmir Images’, the BCA (5th and 6th semester – batch 2016) students of Government College for Women, M.A. Road Srinagar said that the examination of their 3rd semester paper ‘Digital Electronics’ could not conducted in April-May this year. Reason, according to their college authorities — there was some “miscommunication” between the college and university officials.

“Instead of dispatching ‘Digital Electronics’, which is one of the subjects in our course, authorities at the Kashmir University had ‘mistakenly’ sent the question paper of ‘Electronics’,” the students said.

The BCA students, who are around 45 in number, said they have approached the authorities both at their college and Kashmir University for getting the problem resolved but to no avail.

“Instead of solving the issue, the college and KU officials are blaming each-other for the mistake, and eight months have already passed but there seems to be no end to this official madness,” they said.

The students said that it is not for the first time that they are facing such an issue — they have faced same problem in the past also.

“During our first semester examination which was conducted in February 2017, we were given ‘General English’ examination paper while as the prescribed course for BCA is ‘Technical Communication’ and the examination of the same is now being conducted tomorrow (Dec 20, 2018) after a gap of almost two years,” they added.

When contacted, Kashmir University’s Controller Examination, Farooq Ahmad, said: “First of all, I would like to appreciate ‘Kashmir Images’ newspaper for highlighting the grievances of students and with regard to your query related to BCA batch-2016 students, whose ‘Digital Electronics’ examination paper is pending, of Government College for Women, M.A. Road Srinagar we will be issuing the date-sheet for the same in next week.”
