Abducted Sopore vendor returns home after five days

After five days, abducted Sopore cart vendor released

Sopore, Dec 19: A 32-year-old cart vendor, Tariq Ahmad Ganaie, who was abducted from Brath Kallan village in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s on 15 December returned home on Wednesday after remaining in captivity of unknown persons for five days.

According to local reports, Tariq Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie of Bomai Sopore reached his home during the intervening night of Wednesday.

Tariq Ahmad was abducted on 15 December by unknown persons, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, when he was travelling from Bomai to Gund Brath.

Following his disappearance, the family members of Tariq along with Sopore Police and CRPF launched searches at many places including Logripora, Seloo, Dangerpora , Shiva and forest areas of Zainagir in order to trace his whereabouts.

Speaking to Kashmir Images father of Tariq Ahmad, Ghulam Mohammad Ganaie, said that his son returned home at around 1:30 am on Wednesday. “My son is a laborer and has two children to take care of,” he added.
