Poonch, Dec 19: Police on Wednesday evening recovered a throat-slit body of a 27-year-old woman under mysterious conditions at Kunian area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports reaching GNS said that some locals informed the police about the lying of the body in the bushes.
Immediately a police team led by DSP Headquarters Poonch Haqnawaz Khanday reached the spot and recovered the body at Kunian area, they said.
Confirming it, Station House Officer (SHO), Poonch Mohd Anzar Mir told GNS that apparently the woman had some torture marks on her body.
He identified the deceased as Shakeela Akther wife of Mohd Farooq of Kaunian Poonch.
Shakeela according to the officer had gone missing two days ago.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations into the incident have been launched,” the officer added.
The husband of the deceased woman is said to be in Sudia Arabia since last year. (GNS)
