Jammu, December 18: At least seven members of Gujjar community were injured in a clash at Jora form falling in RS Pura segment over  Sarpanch and Panch facilitation function organised by the Gujjar community.
Reports reaching to KNO said that clashes took place at a function organised to facilitate Sarpanch and Panchs of Gujjar community who won the recent Panchayat elections.
The injured persons while talking to KNO said, “We had arranged a lunch party for winning Sarpanch and Panchs and to facilitate and honour them as mark of their victory in recent concluded Panchayat polls.”
However, they said that other rival group from Gujjar community who lost Panchayat elections in the locality visited the venue and started thrashing the participants including Sarpanch and Panchs in which more than seven people were injured.
They informed that one among them was referred to Government Medical College Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu from PHC R S Pura who has received serious injuries. “We have lodged a complaint against the rival group in the concerned police station,” they added. (KNO)
