KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 15: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of AYUSH, Shripad Yesso Naik and Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh laid the foundation stone of Integrated Ayush Hospital, here today.

The approved outlay for the construction of the 50 bedded Integrated Ayush Hospital is Rs 7.35 crore out of which Rs 1.80 crore stands released by the Central Government.

Speaking at the ceremony, Union Minister Shripad Yesso Naik said that Government of India is committed to promote AYUSH system of treatment in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the State is blessed with the rich herbs and medicinal plants and every effort will be made to make its best and optimal use for the patient care.

He said the centre would consider all proposals of the State Government with regard to the promotion of AYUSH with all sincerity and assured to address the issues on priority.

He also listed the achievements in health sector and initiatives undertaken by GoI to upgrade the AYUSH system of treatment in J&K and across the country.

He further assured that all possible help shall be provided from GoI to holistically introduce the AYUSH in the State.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, in his address, congratulated the people of Kishtwar for having the prestigious health project.

“It is the biggest achievement for the people of Kishtwar and erstwhile Doda district as having an Integrated Ayurvedic Hospital   was a long pending demand of this region which has been met by the Central Government headed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi” he added.

He said the Government of India will take more steps to upgrade the health sector in the state with special emphasis on AYUSH system of treatment. He further stressed on the need for strengthening the AYUSH sector and early completion of Integrated Ayush Hospital at Kishtwar .

Joint Secretary Ministry of AYUSH Government of India, RoshanJaggi said that the Government of India has set up this prestigious Integrated Ayush Hospital in district Kishtwar for the benefit of the people. He said that not only Ayurvedic also Unani, Yoga and other streams have been included in an integrated manner. He expressed his thanks to district administration for early identification of the land for construction of 50-bedded Ayush hospital.

Later, a free Health Mela was inaugurated by the Union Ministers at ChowganKishtwar.

In this mela a large number of facilities were provided to common masses like AYUSH & Allopathic OPDs regimental and Panchkarma therapies, free checkup. The medicines were provided to needful free of cost.
