Pulwama, Nov 14: Giving wings to his dreams, a Bsc graduate in Pulwama district has setup his own Pharmaceutical company ‘Vowcare Products’ at Jammu & Kashmir State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (J&K SIDCO), Lassipora Pulwama.

Gowhar Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Ismail Wani, a resident of Wasoora village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district said that since his childhood days he was very ambitious about starting his own Pharmaceutical company in Kashmir and it was in 2017 that he finally launched a Pharmaceutical company under the brand name ‘Vowcare Products’.

“My father was one among the few persons in Kashmir who used to work as medical representative for a Pharmaceutical company ‘Himalayan Labs Medicine’ and it was my father’s profession that motivated me to be an owner of a Pharmaceutical company,” said Wani.

“A decade ago, my family used to manufacture medicinal products at a third party company outside of the state. We had established the head office at Chandigarh and would sell our products in Kashmir and other states of India,” he added.

Wani said that he began working on his idea of starting a Pharmaceutical company in 2013. “No one was ready to support me, neither my parents nor relatives. I sold my motorcycle for seventeen thousands rupees to fund my initiative and also took a piece of land on lease at SIDCO Lassipora industrial area,” Wani told Kashmir Images adding after facing many financial constraints for almost three years, he completed the construction work of his company last  year and launched ‘Vowcare Products’ on 10 June, 2017.

Today, nearly one hundred employees are working closely with Wani for handling different sections of his company. “I managed to get Kashmiri experienced Pharmaceutical working in other states of India. My company manufactures medicine as per the guidelines set by World Health Organization (WHO). The medicinal products we manufacture are anti-diabetes, anti-acids, tonics, analgesics, and syrups,” said Wani adding his company prepares more than one lakh tablets in one day and there has been a continuous rise in the demand of Vowcare products’.

Wani said that it was very challenging for him to market his Kashmir-based medicinal products because of the high competition market set forth by National and as well as International Pharmaceutical companies.

“My message to the highly-qualified but unemployed youth is that there is a wide range of self-employment generating opportunities available in Kashmir and the confidence is the only key to avail them,” said Wani.
