December 11: SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh-IPS on Tuesday inaugurated Budgam Volleyball Knockout Championship-2018 at Sheikh- ul- Alam Stadium Chrarisharief Budgam here.
ASP Budgam Majid Malik and other officers were also present at the inaugural function.
According to a police spokesman, the Championship is being organised by District Police Budgam. 16 teams are participating in the championship.
The spokesman said: “First match of the tournament was played between Gariend Club Vs Budgam Strikers in which Budgam Strikers emerged as winners by 3 Points.”
“The aim of holding such Championship is to inculcate the sense of sportsmanship and amity among the participants,” he said adding locals lauded the efforts of Budgam police for organizing such events which help in nurturing the talent of youth.
