Kumar salutes armed forces, meets officers of Rajya Sainik Board

JAMMU, DECEMBER 07: On the eve of Armed Forces Flag Day, Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar paid homage to the soldiers who sacrificed their life while protecting the nation.

The Advisor was interacting with the officers of Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) who met him at his office chamber in Civil Secretariat, here today.

Director Rajya Sainik Board, Brig (Retd) Harcharan Singh pinned the Armed Forces flag on the Advisor Kumar who also contributed towards the Armed Forces Fund.

Among others, Brig (Retd) M M Harjai, Col (Retd) Rawel Singh, Capt. Bana Singh (PVC) and other officers were also present on the occasion.

The Advisor saluted the armed forces on Armed Forces Flag Day and urged people to donate generously for the welfare of our armed forces personnel. The funds raised can be utilized for the welfare of ex-servicemen, war widows and dependents of the martyrs, he added.

Pertinently, December 7 is celebrated as the Armed Forces Flag Day since 1949 to honour the martyrs and the men in uniform who valiantly fought on the borders to safeguard the sovereignty of the country.
