JAMMU, DECEMBER 06: Secretary Cooperatives and Tribal Affairs, Abdul Majid Bhatt, today convened a meeting to take stock of the functioning of Cooperative Department in Jammu Division.
Threadbare discussions were held about various issues with the officials of the department to maintain the accountability, transparency and dedication towards the functional cooperative societies.
Majid also reviewed the status of assets to be scrutinized which would be utilized for creating more income generating units.
The Secretary called upon the officials to put in their dedicated efforts in reviving the cooperative societies and strengthen the department. He said that employees recruited for Audit process should be provided proper training so that audit can be done well in time.
He said Cooperative functionaries should gear up their pace and proper guidance to the members of the societies at the grass root level to bring in more vibrancy in the functioning of the department. He said: “We should explore the opportunities and make the department viable for everyone.”
During the meeting, the secretary was also apprised about the issues faced by the employees of the department. He assured them that their genuine issues would be addressed in a time-bound manner.
