JAMMU, DECEMBER 05: A Band team of Sainik School Manasbal created history by bagging the second position in a zone level band competition held at Panchkula, Haryana.

This is for the first time a team from J&K represented by Sainik School Manasbal has bagged a position in a band competition held within or outside the state.

Secretary Education Ajeet Kumar Sahu felicitated the Band team of Sainik School Manasbal on their return from the zonal level Band Competition.

The zonal level band competition of north zone was held in Panchkula on 2 December 2018. The teams from Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir participated in the competition.

Sahu congratulated the team and their coach for bringing laurels to the state in general and their school in particular.

Sahu asked the State Project Director Samagra Siksha to raise more such bands in government schools.

It is pertinent to mention that the conduct of inter-district band competition and sponsoring the state team for participation in zonal competition was done by SAMAGRA Shiksha J&K.
