NC seeks roll back of decision turning J&K Bank into PSU

JAMMU DECEMBER 01- National Conference on Saturday held protest rallies across the Jammu division against recent decision of the State Administrative Council in declaring Jammu and Kashmir Bank as a Public Sector Undertaking.

A press release issued here said that at Jammu, a protest rally was taken out from Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan with National Conference workers demanding immediate roll back of the decision for the larger interests of Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders of the party staged a sit-in dharna at Raghunath Chowk and raised slogans against the decision.

The Speakers criticized the decision and expressed apprehensions that this will adversely impact the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and shake the confidence of its huge clientele, the press release further said adding that the speakers also castigated the administration for eroding the special status of the state, saying such decisions are detrimental to the interests of the people.

Organised by the District President Jammu Urban, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, prominent among those who participated in the protests included Rattan Lal Gupta State Secretary, Deepender Kour Ex-MLC, Bimla Luthra Ex-MLA, Vijay Laxami Dutta Provincial Vice President, Vijay Lochan Co Chairman SC Cell and others.

Similar protests were organized at Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Ramban, Banihal, Udhampur, Billawar,  Reasi , Gool-Gulabgarh, Bishnah , R.S Pura   and other places of the Jammu division where the National Conference leaders presented memorandum to the authorities against the SAC decision and  called for its immediate roll back, the press release added.
