Srinagar, Dec 01: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Muhammad Yasin Malik was on Saturday shifted from Maisuma police station to a hospital after he complained of severe back pain.

Malik, who is undergoing detention from past several days, was shifted to a private hospital in Srinagar where he had to undergo several diagnostic tests, said a spokesman of the outfit.

“A team of doctors including his personal physician Dr Upender Koul Ji saw him at the hospital,” said the spokesman, adding that the ultrasonography showed multiple stones in both his kidneys.

He said the doctors are of the opinion that lack of movement and regular confinements were responsible for his back pain.

“After medical check-up, JKLF chairman was shifted back to police station Maisuma,” said the spokesman.

He said that the police raided the JKLF office at Abi-Guzar today and arrested zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri from there. “After taking him into custody, Bashir Kashmiri has been shifted to police station Kothi-bagh. JKLF strongly condemns this unfair arrest of its zonal organizer,” he said.
